“Memories without borders” now gets over obstacles like language, scripture, decentralized storage and restricted access to archival documents. Written historical sources of Slovak and Austrian heritage institutions will be accessible in an easier way and will be offered free of charge. An easy online access gives the people originating from the border region between Austria and Slovakia the opportunity to research and experience the countless aspects of their common historic past, fostering and deepening a trans – border consciousness.
With the help of many accompanied cultural offers like workshops, courses or guided tours in Slovak and Austrian archives the written documents can be experienced in an active way. The historical past of both countries comes back to life and can be rediscovered.
